Recycle Your Computer Equipment For Reuse

We recognize that access to information holds the key to the empowerment of marginalized people, particularly the youth. The vision of OnePCPerChild.com is to foster wealth creation, reduce unemployment and create self-sustaining communities by providing marginalized people in local communities with the technology, tools, and resources to enable them to realize their greatest potential.

Why Recycle:
-The opportunity to improve the environment through a “Zero landfill” program while prioritizing the education of disadvantaged kids.
- Fastest way to free up some storage space.
- Feel good about benefiting a worthy cause and helping those in need.

Remember, it's always better to give than receive.

Under our program, only registered educational institutions or non-profit organizations are eligible to receive our equipment at discounted rates.

Repairs and Placements:
After picking up your reusable equipment, our technicians troubleshoot for any software or hardware problems and fix them. Repaired equipment is placed in our storage. Repaired equipment is then delivered to recipients as orders come in. Any thing which is not repairable is properly disposed of following EPA guidelines.

Data Protection:
We automatically wipe clean all hard drives upon receiving. Please note we do not pickup any physically broken equipment. However it is ok if equipment has mechanical or other working issues; in most cases these machines can be repaired and put to use.

Please Note:
Donated computers must have only legally licensed software installed. Where available, original disks or CDs for any installed software should be included in the contribution.


How do we cover our expenses:
To remain operational and to continue to do what we do, we have to make a profit. Our recipients (non-profit organizations) of the refurbished equipment pay only 50% of the market value. For example if the market value of a used laptop is $300, the recipient pays only $150.

- Desktops P4 or higher
- Laptops P4 or higher
- Networking Gear
- LCD Monitors (any size)

• Every computer dumped into a landfill represents a missed opportunity to provide Information-Age tools to individuals and organizations across the digital divide.
  
• Well-meaning companies that donate out-of-date computer systems directly to schools and nonprofits -- rather than through a recycler or a refurbisher -- can end up passing on more of a burden than a blessing.
